This week in Lembongan…. The instructors have spent the week redoing the open water course. That’s right, the new PADI Open Water course is only days away from its Two Fish Lembongan launch. Those of you thinking of doing your open water course, new is the time to jump in with our instructors and be some of the first people in Indonesia to be certified under the new open water course!
PADI launched its new revised open water course, earlier this year but it has taken sometime for the materials needed to teach the course to make to Indonesia. Once the materials were here, we placed our order. Armed with a new DVD, which is a lot more modern age, sadly the comic relief, the scuba facts and the hot pink wetsuits have all been removed but our instructors are here to entertain you through the floods of information. Soon our instructors will be sitting down to take on the new exam to make sure they are ready for all the tricky questions the students might ask.
Some new skills have been added to the course, to help students develop their overall diving skills. We are very thankful in Lembongan that PADI has added SMB use to the open water course so that the new age of divers will be experienced in SMB use! There is also a big focus on students planning their own dive in preparation for their first dives without the guidance of an instructor.
We haven’t spent the whole week in the classroom, we have still been out diving. Underwater this week we have seen, at least 1 mola mola a day, manta rays, painted frog fish, pipe fish, stone fish, scorpion fish, moray ells and candy crabs.![]()
