This week in Lembeh….Octopus “Rain” the straight. You never know which way to look because octopus have been everywhere, even falling from the sky. We were able to watch a lopsided battle between a crab and a coconut octopus mere inches from the surface. As the octopus floated back down to join us, 8m deep, it clutched it’s prize tightly.
A reunion of return guests seem to be flooding us this week, with the return of Neil and Deb, Andrew, Tiger, and Nicole who all met here on previous trips. Its been some happy times on the boat and in the cafe at night! They have been very busy photographing the cast of characters here in Lembeh and can’t seem to get enough.
Where as guests Tom and Carmen were shocked that within two days, over half their “must see” list was checked off. Things like: Harlequin shrimp, blue ring octopus, hairy frogfish, mantis shrimps, and flamboyant cuttlefish.
Aleksi has come to Lembeh to do his Open Water course and learn what Muck diving is all about. He’s been very excited with the things he has seen so far. Talk about being spoiled so early in his diving career!
Loads of thing have been around such as: Coleman shrimp, Hairy shrimp, Ornate and robust ghost pipefish, tiger shrimp, paddleflap rhinopia, frogfish galore, mandarin fish, thats just to name a few.
What does this next week have for us??
