This week in Bunaken… The dreaded PADI Instructor Examination turned out to be a walk in the park for our two candidates, Mia and Gwen. The nervous expressions in the beginning turned in to big smiles at the end of it all when the examinor gave them their scores that proved that they had passed everything. Congratulations to our brand new PADI Instructors!
After passing their theory exams the first evening they proceeded with the Open Water presentations the morning after as well as the Rescue Assessment. It turned out to be quite challenging cause the weather Gods were not in their best mood so the waves were fairly big, but that’s real life conditions for you! Not a problem though and the Confined Water presentations as well as the Classroom presentation afterwards were both a walk in the park. Hard work over the last two weeks paid off – well done ladies!
The guests coming here for fun diving haven’t been disappointed either. With the rainy season being on its last leg the visibility has cleared up beautifully and the sightings have been plentiful. Among other things there has been sightings of bumphead parrotfish, massive giant trevallies, white tip and black tip reef sharks, eagle rays, big tunas out hunting and on the small side gorgeous pygmy seahorses, candy crabs, orangutang crabs and ornate ghost pipefish.
We are happy to welcome two new PADI Divemaster trainees this week. Philippa has already been at Two Fish Lembeh for three weeks so she is here to polish off her course and Ross has only just started his course here in Bunaken. Keep an eye out for their blogs about their courses!
