This week in Belongas … we have an outstanding amount of Redtooth trigger fish, sea cobras, nudibranchs, white tip reef sharks and eagle rays but this week its been the mobula rays that have made diving special as they have been counted on every dive. The school’s have been up to 60 rays and at minimum 35. Mobula rays look extremely similar to manta rays but the difference is in their mouths and cephalic fins (head fins). Mobula rays cephalic fins are just a flap whereas mantas fins unravel to form a much larger paddle like structure.
This week we have had our boat out every day and to all our divers delight they have been swarmed with such beauty. Zsolt from hungry is Belongas mad and has joined us on our day trips for what is now his 5th day. He loves the adventure and the not knowing what you may see. Hopefully he will share with us his amazing footage over the last week so we can add this to our facebook page for the curious ones.
This week we have also been blessed with the company of Angela Qilliam who had just recently finished her Dive Master course with us here at Two Fish Divers. She has trained in Lembeh, Beunakin, Lembah and the last but not least port of call was us here in Belongas, South Lombok. She will be missed as she continues her adventure.
So folks the season is here and we have trips booked for months so let’s see what joys we get the pleasure of meeting in these following months.
