Last week I tried some technical diving in the pool and the “tech-fever” caught me. So I decided to take some technical courses with Dom. I started with the TDI Advanced Nitrox course. The theory is really interesting. I also planned my first dive to 40m with a stage cylinder. During this dive I saw some big tunas and a black tip shark. Dom also practized a lot of tech-drills with me. I am looking forward to the next course which will be TDI Deco Procedures.
I spent some hours filling a lot of tanks with Yadi, which works in the compressor room. Me and Jackie, the other DM trainee, also got some really good inputs from Dom about scuba equipment and its maintenance. It was a learnful afternoon.
This week me and Jackie did our Search and Recovery workshop. To be honest we didn’t have our best day and did some mistakes. For example we lost our instructor Dom while doing our search patterns! 🙂 But we are here to learn from our mistakes. However, lessons learned. We did also the Rescue workshop and did quite a better job this time. Me and Jackie were rescuing each other and both of us survived. 🙂
I joined some dive guides on their dives with customers to learn how they guide and how they look for stuff. It’s amazing how they find all those small sea animals like crabs and so on.
My girlfriend arrived this week. I hope she will try some diving. 🙂 If she takes some course I may assist an instructor.
