In Belongas, South Lombok…. Eagle Rays have been especially playful this week. We see them in “The Magnet” almost every time, usually 2 but sometimes it goes up to 5. They tend to hang out at around 20-30 meters but recently they have been rising up to 15. Luckily for our divers they got a fantastic welcoming for most of their dive. As we start at 30 meters and slowly make our way up the ray’s arranged themselves to the same profile.
Alongside the eagle rays we have been spotting bigger schools of Great hammerheads, Scalloped Hammerheads, Bigeye Trevally, unicorn fish, great Barracuda and giant groupers.
As for the smaller creatures: Our locals the harlequin shrimp have come out of hiding finally and neighboured with a juvenile many spotted sweetlips.
We are also happy to inform everybody of the success of our second boat from Vidar out in Belongas.
We are now in the high season and have had trips from both boats almost every day. All good reviews from the divers in Pangang Villas.

Any hammerheads around?
