Jackie and the rest of Singapore’s Team rEvo came over for a visit to Bunaken this week, with a last minute addition of their friend Ken from Canada.
Now these guys are serious packers; they all brought their own rEvo CCR, three of them brought their own cylinders, they had their own tools and spares and even brought their own scrubber for a weeks diving 40-60m range and they only had one bag each. Fair play!
We had very mild conditions during their stay, showcasing Bunaken’s beautiful walls in epic visibility; but this was a very experienced group so I am sure they could have taken whatever was thrown at them. All mixed gas CCR divers and Eugene and Davy being technical diving instructors. They really looked after themselves all I had to do was guide and fill bottles. We were lucky on the dives with frequent shark, eagle ray and turtle sightings on the walls and great viz on the wreck- which was nice to do not having to worry about deco limits. The wreck is very easily penetrable at the 35-40m range and had abundant life all over it.
It was great diving with the guys, and I couldn’t help but learn a little about the pros of the rEvo system; Davy is a very passionate teacher, and I am sure if I could afford it he would have sold me one by the end of the trip.
