This week in Belongas, South Lombok we have been spotting Mobula Rays every dive at Gili Sarang. They have been a bit unpredictable this season with spells of disappearing and usually by this time of year they have head off to a slightly colder climate but they seem to be enjoying the warms waters of 28ºC.
Nicole Mueller a rescue diver from Germany has joined us for 3 days in Belongas and had all the luck in the world with sightings of Hammerheads, Eagle rays, White Tip Reef Sharks, Barracudas, Trevally and schools of the magnificent Mobula Rays. Once she had her fill of the pelagic fish she then joined us in Sekotong for a bit of Macro. Sad to say goodbye today but she thoroughly enjoyed herself and will be back next year.
As the season is coming to an end we take this time to train some new guides for the upcoming season in Belongas. Conditions have been calm with small waves, small currents, warmer waters but still we are getting our fill of what Belongas is famous for and that is indeed the Hammerheads and Mobula Rays.
We would also like to welcome our new Instructor Jake Langford from the U.K who touched down yesterday and is already down in Belongas diving with our group of 8 from Germany and the U.K.
It is a pleasure having him here and we are sure that with all South Lombok has to offer he will never want to leave.
