This week in Amed …. The high season is starting in Amed and we have just had a PADI Open Water Diver course with 3 students where they discovered mimic octopus in Amed on our house-reef, as well as frogfishes, seahorses, snake eels and wide variety of nudibranchs.
For their last open water dives they managed to visit the USAT Liberty shipwreck, the most famous dive site in Bali, and it was amazing with Bumphead parrotfishes, Barracudas, and giant sweetlips. The old wreck is huge and one dive is never enough, and all students vowed that they would all come back and dive again on the wreck.
We also welcomed our very first PADI Instructor Internship in Amed. Mikko did his Instructor Course last month with Two Fish Divers in Lembongan, he wanted to develop new teaching methods and improve his experience and we decided his best choice would be in Amed. Mikko was busy from day 1, leading the group of 3 PADI Open Water students on the house reef dives and the open water dives on the USAT Liberty wreck.
We also had our long time guest Jacqui visiting us. Jacqui manages our booth at the UK dive show that we attend every Oct, and she is over here touring our new locations to make sure that at the dive show she can give first-hand accounts about whats its like to dive there.
Hope to see you soon in Amed!!
