We had a successful Rhinopias hunt this week at Two Fish Lembeh!
Third time return guest David heard that there were some recent Rhinopias sightings in Lembeh, and it was his goal to see one. Just as his no-deco time was getting low on his first morning-dive back in the Strait, he spotted a big, beautiful, Weedy Rhinopias (Rhinopias frondosa). Though Rhinopias are common in a select few dive destinations, Lembeh is not one of them. Because of their relative rarity in Lembeh, they are a highly sought after sighting for divers and photographers alike. But the hunt is not over yet! Word in the Strait is that there is a second, smaller Rhinopias nearby. David, and all the dive guides, will continue the hunt all week!
Divemaster in Training Michel has been enjoying all the amazing critters that Lembeh has to offer alongside his Two Fish Divemaster course. Besides doing his Search and Rescue Scenarios and his Skin-Diving and Discover Scuba Diving workshops, Michel has had some incredible fun-dives. A Flamboyant Cuttlefish sighting was high on his list when he first arrived in Lembeh and he has since seen 4-5 of them! He has also been highly impressed by the variety of Mantis Shrimp and Frogfish that he has seen over the past few days. If he can see a Blue-Ringed Octopus before his Two Fish Divemaster course is over, he will have seen everything on his critter-list!
In topside news, Pepper’s puppies are growing stronger, more adventurous and a bit cuter every day! They are a few days shy of 4 weeks old and are officially walking and teething. They already have incredibly distinct personalities; some are so curious they won’t sit still, while others want to do nothing more than snuggle with each other and willing guests. Pepper remains happy, healthy and exceedingly patient.
