We broke a new turtle record this week – on Tina’s two discover scuba dives we saw in total over 20 turtles as the Gili’s lived up to its reputation for turtle-mania!!
Before her first ever dive, she told her instructor Kay that she would be very happy to see at least one turtle. Thought that would be an easy thing to achieve as we are here on Gili very spoilt with turtles, but I didn’t expect to see 12 on one dive. Over 8 more turtles were following on her second dive.
She was very lucky on her two first dives in her life anyway. We had a long list of things we saw. We encountered white tip reef sharks, a black tip reef shark was just passing us, spotted an octopus, several giant moray eels, two tiny cute yellow boxfish, scorpionfish, lionfish, some giant pufferfish… It was an incredible feeling seeing her with such a big smile ascending after her dives, especially as she was almost quitting after the pool session. She absolutely loved it and was saying that this was one of the best experience in her life!
Besides this wonderful experience, we had some more Discover Scuba Diver Courses going on this week. We had Daniel from Chile, Lukas from Germany and our repetitive customer Kristoffer from Denmark who dove with us already in Ahmed. Every single one loved it and were doing a brilliant job underwater.
Furthermore, we have also some brand new divers we would like to welcome to the PADI-family. Nandini and Alex from England successfully passed their OW course and also Marie from France who did her Scuba Diver Course.
Hope to see you in Gili & North Lombok this summer!
