This week in Amed, our excellent PADI Divemaster trainee, Nathan Wong, managed to get a close-up picture of an Idiomysis.
The good eye of our Dive Guide Dr Baron helped us find this very, but I mean, very tiny crustacean during a Muck Dive on our House Reef – right in front of the resort. Nathan is using a Sony A6300, it allowed him this wonderful feat. Hard to spot and even harder to capture on a camera, the Idiomysis live in swarms (Small groups) in coastal waters.
They are known to live in commensal relationships with Sea Anemones. Commensalism is a type of relationship between two organisms where one organism benefits from the other without affecting it! Likely one of the coolest relationship ever.
This week has also been blessed with Csaba Sellei, our new Divemaster trainee, who wants to go all the way to Instructor level – participating in September’s Instructor Development Course in Amed. He already assisted us with some PADI Discover Scuba Diving sessions, namely with Fabienne, Jean-François, Martin and Antoine; a happy family from Belgium who wanted to visit the underwater world for the first time! They successfully achieved the program and left with that great smile we work hard for! Nice one everybody!
