This week in Amed, we encountered the very in demand Mimic Octopus; a “must-have” subject for underwater photographers, our specialty here in Amed. It holds this name because of its ability to impersonate other local species by changing its skin color and texture and literally blend with its environment. All thanks to what is called the chromatophores, a group of cells of pigment-containing light reflecting cells. A very interesting species to discover and study.
We also take a moment to congratulate a whole bunch of students and guests for all their achievements. Timothy, Robert and Richard, the three goliaths from Sweden, got their PADI Open Water Certification, Guillaume, Damien, Pedro, Vincent, Camille, Delphine, Elshe and Chiara got their first experience in the ocean with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Program, and we got a visit from former Tec students Arthur and Shirleen who just got married. Congrats to all and we hope to see you again in the future.
