A laid-back nurse shark swam by in Nusa Penida (Manta Point) while everybody was looking to see mantas. Nurse sharks can be found on shallow coral reefs, they feed on smaller fish for example stingray, lucky for the nurse shark there are a lot of blue spotted stingrays in Manta Point! Nurse sharks are known to stay on the same reef, so there is a big chance we might see her again on our next dives in Manta Point. Next, to this beautiful nurse shark, we saw more than 15 mantas, from the moment we descended, up until we did our safety stop! After Manta Point we moved with our guests Maggie, Ruth and David to Crystal Bay, where the water was exceptionally warm with 27°C! After Crystal Bay Ruth jumped in for our last dive of the day in SD.
The next day we visited Crystal Bay, Toya Pakeh and the mangroves in Nusa Penida with Thomas and Nicole. We spotted Giant Trevally, Humphead wrasse/ Napoleon fish, green turtles and hawksbill turtles and many more! Thomas is doing his advanced course this week at Two Fish Divers in Gili Air, we wish you a lot of fun!!
With Scuba Club the kids did an obstacle course under water, swimming through hoops and being weightless – neutrally buoyant. They were so excited to go into the water that they first did everything without scuba gear, free diving the whole track! The hoop practice is the perfect preparation for diving in open water to practice impeccable buoyancy skills.
