Shall we go diving after the quake? Even if some of us haven’t slept well when we met this very morning after Bali has been hit by Lombok’s earthquake, we had a talk with our guests which conclusion was: “so far we’re fine here in Amed, let’s go diving! ” Whatever the situation was, the will to go into the blue looked stronger and makes us deciding to get the boat ready and conduct the dives as initially planned.

And diving helped! Coming back from the famous USAT Liberty wreck, we welcomed different faces, relaxed and smiley compared to the morning. Porcelain crab, turtle, some cool nudibranchs and many more were a game changer this day.

If a few damages happened randomly in the Amed area, our facilities and resort remained strong and everyone here has been back to a normal life pretty quickly. Both our diving operation and hospitality service didn’t suffer any abnormality and we are grateful that none of the staff or their families are in trouble by now.

Now that the natural calm and quietness of Amed has returned our thoughts goes to those in North Lombok and Gili who are facing more serious issues. Unfortunately, our operation in Gili Air has to be shut down at the moment but Hammer sharks are still to be seen in South Lombok. As this part of the island is not affected by the resent events feel safe to go and give it try and you’re coming around Amed, we’ll be happy to welcome you here!
