Training PADI divemasters has been on our minds over here on Bunaken. We had the pleasure of finishing off Vilia’s divemaster training and turning her into a fine PADI divemaster. Vilia lives in Jakarta and loves to dive in her free time, what better way to escape the city and get to dive every day! She had split her course into two segments of two weeks and did a cross over between two different Two Fish locations.
We had the opportunity to have her assist on different dive courses so she could observe and help our instructors out. She did a phenomenal job during theses assists and got to witness open water divers complete their first ever dive and advanced open water divers navigate a square.
Towards the end of her course there was a chance for her to play the victim during a rescue course, which she found exhilarating. To top all that off, she was guiding her own divers during the last week of her stay and guess what…she loved it!
Watching Vilia complete her course and officially become a PADI divemaster was exciting, though it was shortly followed by having to say good-bye. Luckily we have had a new DMT arrive as well. Her name is Kim and she is from Australia. She will be on Bunaken for two weeks before she moves on to our center in Lembongan to be turned into a PADI divemaster.
Kim is off to a terrific start and doing a great job helping us out around the dive center. She learns quickly and can adapt to changes easily, on top of that she is very popular with the guests whom she will happily strike up a conversation with at lunch time or in the bar during beer o’clock. We have high hopes for this great lady and look forward to teaching her all she needs to know!
Do you maybe feel that life has gotten too routine and you need a way to escape normal life for while? Do you want to leave work behind for a few months and just dive a LOT? If you recognize yourself in Vilia or Kim and bring a similar attitude to the table, then we, Two Fish Divers are happy to teach you all that we know about diving and turn you into a PADI divemaster.

My wife and I did our dm training there. Wonderful learning experience.
