Michael finaly got to shoot a Mimic Octopus ! After he was seeking for it in Lembeh with no success, our repetitive guest, armed with his brand new set of underwater camera and lights, had not one neither two but three chances of picturing the fantastic mimic octopus ! In only four dives we spoted it three times which is honestly not that likely to happen whatever this dude is known for living on the area.

Yesteday morning the boat is living for a nice muck dive site between Amed and Tulamben. We arrive at Batu Niti with an experienced group, our photographer Michael, brand new Divemaster Eugenia, Divemaster trainee Kate, our divemaster Bayu and instructor Eze. Everybody gets ready and super excited, jump into the water and make there way beneath the surface of the ocean. Knowing is thing pretty well, Bayu is our main spotter on that adventure but, as everybody is experienced, all the divers are scrutting the bottom for shrimps, crabs, frogfishs and whatever they can find. From time to time some Giant trevallies are passing by into the blue and take our attention off the bottom. We know a huge schooling of trevally is actually around but most of us are starring at the seafloor. And half of the dive, Bayu spotted a Mimic octopus ! We spent a good ten minutes just watching its show before continuing our journey. By the end of the dive we had to meet this trevally schooling at the safety stop … just magic !

To complete this day we had to spot an other Mimic octopus at Gost Bay on dive number two. Same players played again and that  was Eze’s turn to spot it. Michael was so happy to have an other chance to picture it ! On top of that we had a nice frogfish, couple of Flabelinas, spider crabs … To make it brief, that was an excelent dazy of diving at TwoFish Amed !
