Amed is well known for its healthy reefs and awesome wrecks, as well as easy drift dives and superb muck diving. But if all this isn’t enough, we also have a dive site right next to our Two Fish Amed Resort where in addition to the natural reef you can also find artificial reef structures scattered around the bottom and teeming with marine life. Welcome to The Pyramids!
The pyramidal concrete structures at The Pyramids were dropped 25 years ago by local diving associations, and they have become the home of a wide variety of marine species. During a visit to the Pyramids, you might be able to see garden eels on the sandy bottom, followed by blue spotted stingrays, leaf scorpionfish, moray eels, and even reef sharks and green and hawksbill turtles. If you look closely, you can also find small critters such as ghost pipefish and many types of nudibranchs. If it’s your lucky day, perhaps you’ll find a pygmy seahorse clinging on to a beautiful gorgonian fan!
The shallowest pyramids are set at 4-5 metres, and the deepest ones at around 25-30 metres. The water temperature ranges from 27°C to 30°C all year round, and the dive site can be accessed directly from the shore or by a short boat ride from our Two Fish Divers Amed Resort. This makes The Pyramids a suitable dive site to divers of all levels.
