This week has been another busy week for our IDC candidates at Two fish Amed! Under supervision of Tin, PADI Course Director at Two Fish, and Unieng, PADI IDC staff who hopes to soon become one of the few Indonesia women Padi Course Directors, our three candidates, Chris from the US, Titi from Indonesia and Tim from Switzerland.
They stayed busy all week long with several workshops and presentations they had to do. Sharing their time between the class room, the pool and the open water, they trained their ability to teach skills, do oral presentations and demonstrate rescue exercises.
The Instructor Development Course (IDC) requires a lot of focus and dedication. Through this course the candidate is prepared to take and pass the Instructor Examination and become a Padi Instructor. We are not talking anymore of developing your own skills as a diver but to develop how to pass your knowledge and technics to your future students and make them proper safe and reliable divers.
IDC includes as well to become an “Emergency First Responder” Instructor. As any rescue diver candidate has to hold an up to date First and Secondary Care certification, a scuba instructor will have to teach such a course as well. So yeah! Chris, Titi and Tim, our three IDC candidates, are having a busy week going through all this, but very soon they will be proud to achieve their goal of becoming a diving instructor.
From all of us at Two Fish Amed we wish them success in this important step of their diving career !
