They may be extremely cute looking but pufferfish are the second most poisonous vertebrate in the world, after the golden poison frog. Certain internal organs, such as liver and eyes, and sometimes the skin, contain tetrodotoxin, a substance that makes them foul tasting and often lethal to fish.

THIS WEEK IN BUNAKEN… on our day trip to Mantehage we saw schools of giant travally & barracuda’s and a banded seasnake, and a big school of dolphin on the way. Week 3 of Eco Divemaster Internship now in Bunaken The third week of my internship has been a busy one. On Friday afternoon upon the return from my morning fun dives, it was time for me to get my transfer to Bunaken where I would spend my remaining two weeks.

THIS WEEK IN LEMBEH… Lots of Shaggy Frogifsh, Wunderpus, Mimic, Coconut and Blue Ringed Octopuses, Lembeh Sea Dragons, Boxer Crabs, Candy Crabs, a free swimming Sea Moth (!!), Ambon Scorpionfish, Flamboyant Cuttlefish and we had a huge Sargassum Frogfish floating on our house reef! Well done as the Norwegian team did adventure dives in Lembongan – they did the drift and navigation with their Instructor Laurent.
