Turtles! Really?
Many guests doing a Discover Scuba Diving program with us in Amed get really excited when we tell them, yes, we have turtles in the Pyramids! This week Romain and Clement get literally crazy when, after 20 minutes diving on the amazing site of the Pyramids, we spotted the holly grail of their experience underwater, a nice adult turtle chilling on the reef!
They can have stayed couple of minutes swimming around this majesty without disturbing its quietness, really a highlight of the two dives they did!
We are lucky turtles have their habits! When they find a home they would stay there for a while before, after years, they would head back for the beach they have been born on. So even if they are good at hiding themselves for a nap and make our search harder, we can usually spot them quite easily paying a little visit at their place.
Here in Amed this place is called the Pyramids, and we are very happy that at least three of them are staying around. The site of the Pyramids in Amed is a nice combination of natural coral reef along the slope down to twenty meters (more or less) and some artificial structures set in the sand in the deeper part. These artificial Pyramids are long enough in the water to host plenty of life.
Come over to visit us at Two Fish Divers Amed and we’ll be pleased to have you on board to discover the wonderful underwater world!
