Hello Two Fish friends, Tom here again for another dive masters trainee blog.
I’m progressing slowly but surely through the course, and am in the last quarter now..
I’ve assisted on four discover scuba’s and one bubble maker, both great as they are designed for people to access the world of diving, quickly and without much learning.

Seeing pure joy in their eyes helps me look at the reef again as though it was my first time too.
Assisting in open water courses and advanced open water courses have been great too, mainly for seeing people to get excited about becoming competent, confident divers.
It’s also for the dramatic roles I can play in EFR and Rescue courses, such as ‘Panicked diver’ and ‘Man in car crash’.. Maybe I deserve an Oscar, or at least a nomination..
My demonstration quality skills are almost fully polished, practising hand signals in bed at night is good even though it feels a bit crazy.. Imagining the ceiling is a dsd student.

So I have those skills to be assessed on, an 800m snorkel, 400m swim and a 200m tow.
Also mapping the dive site Alung Banua to finish, a site full of small caves with a resident leaf fish and pygmy seahorse at 16m.
Oh yes, and the Theory Exam.. I’m really not nervous about that… Honest.. Aaargh.

Congratulations also to Sara De Win and Lilly Davalon, my fellow Dive master trainees who are now qualified. Well done lovely ladies, I know you will add much happiness to the dive world.
