This last week was another spectacular time in Lembeh, with the addition of celebrating PADI Women’s Dive Day in Lembeh. As the usual excitement from the guests about what could be seen on their multiple dives throghout their time here it was also time for some of the local women to get excited as well as they got to discover scuba diving! For those of you who have recently been to ur Lembeh resort you would have been greeted at reception every day by Megi.

Behind the scenes we also have her older sister Frilly as well as our head of admin Yuny. These ladies spend most of their time in the office helping to make sure your stay is as smooth as possible. On Friday 21^st of July, PADI Women’s Dive Day it only made sense to get them out of the office and into the water. Fortunately we have our resident PADI Instructor Rachel at hand to help these Ladies take their first breaths underwater.

While the girls were out having fun the rest of the staff took to the beach, bin bags in hand and performed a very thorough beach clean. After the diving for the day was done the celebrations continued into the bar. Special offers on the cocktail of the night “Pintu Colada” (A popular dive site of the area) meant people were in good spirits and our female guests bagged some limited edition PADI Women’s Dive Day prizes!
Food is always highly spoke of in Lembeh, thanks to our 3 Female cooks and they even produced a giant pink cake in honour of the day!

After dinner men and women alike settled down in front of the big screen to watch “Mission Blue”, the documentary about Sylvia Earle. A pioneer in womens diving and surely an inspiration to all divers/scientists/exploreres/conservationists regardless of gender!

All in all a fun and successful day was had by everyone involved and we are looking forward to celebrating it again next year!

As well as all this we had a very special return guest. Marnie, came diving with us 9 years ago and she managed to get to dive with John on her stay here, the same guide as she had that very first visit! When it comes to experience in Lembeh it’s clear that there aren’t many who can boast more than him!
