This week in Lembongan… Kit has now left after 2 weeks of diving and exploring the Nusa Lembongan area, but he did leave with us some of his amazing photos. Just like this one that captures the colourful coral that is all over our dive sites.Lembongan maybe known for its strong currents, manta rays and molas but it is these strong currents that bring nutrient full water to the area that helps the colourful coral grow in the great numbers that we have. It is also these nutrient rich currents that bring the cooler waters for the mola and draws the plankton for the manta rays.
The fringing reefs that we get around the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida offer divers rich coral gardens from as shallow as 2 or 3 meter that just flow down the slops into the darkness. It is these colourful coral reefs that hide the tiny creatures that our dive guides are amazing at finding. With all that colour it is amazing how the guides can pick out the creatures.
Thank you Kit for taking the time out of your busy life to come and enjoy the island life with us. You were lucky enough to be able to explore almost every dive site in the area and you were even able to explore some new ones with us. We Look forward to you returning for more adventures and maybe some more exploring.
Beside our divers taking in the amazing coral life we have also seen some great fish life underwater this week. We have seen: frog fish, bamboo sharks, white tip reef sharks, octopus, scorpion leaf fish, manta rays, shrimps and crabs.![]()
