We had a large variety of courses and guests diving this week from young introduction divers Emma and Floor from the Netherlands to our adventurous Jules from France who conquered deep diving with sharks.
The environment around Bunaken is such a varied place that all levels from snorkelers to seasoned divers find it a fascinating and amazing place to get wet. During the deep dive there were 2 species of shark on the deep wall in front of the resort, our common friend the white-tip reef shark and the slightly more illusive Black-tip reef shark.
Our newly certified Open Water divers Maureen, Frankie and Lloydie had such a great time being introduced to the fascinating creatures around Bunaken and were lucky enough to see some really special critters like seahorses and ghost pipefishes as well as the big guys, our famous turtles and Napoleon Wrasse. Lloydie and Maureen enjoyed their diving courses so much that they wanted to see what the reef looked like after dark so they continued their training and had a wonderful night diving experience. Some of our guests from France, Francois and Philippe took the chance to gain their Nitrox certification and extend their diving limits and knowledge.
The football world cup has been well represented here at Two Fish Bunaken with supporters from many countries staying up late to watch the games even though our island internet doesn’t always allow for such a great viewing experience. Whether the matches bring glory or disappointment there is always the beautiful ocean to revel in the next day to soothe the wounds or enjoy the victory.
