This week we did our monthly ‘Dive Against Debris’ at our adopted dive site Muka Kampung in Bunaken. Muka means ‘in front of’, in Bahasa Indonesia, and ‘Kampung’ means village. So you guess right, this dive site is in front of the village. It is a beautiful wall with lots of soft and hard coral and is home to a dozen turtles and uncountable numbers of big and small fish and critters. On top of this aquatic realm, you’ll find a very colorful reef. Sadly, sometimes you’ll find also a lot of debris here. The current brings a lot of trash from the mainland here. This time the staff of TwoFish, together with 4 guests, took 29 kilos of debris out of the ocean! We found, among other things, big ropes, fishing nets, cables, clothes and plastic bags.
Well done everybody and thanks very much for your help to keep our oceans clean!
