This past 2 weeks we have accomplished a couple tasks for our training. The tasks included the 24 skill circuit, mapping project of the house reef, sidemount diving, twinset diving, guiding divers, Samuel assisting the open water course, Nathan assisting the Advance open water course, and divemaster final exams. I was amazed that we could cover all the knowledge review questions in four days and take the exam on the fourth day. We were both glad that we both passed the exam, but we still have two more projects to do, which includes the search and recovery scenario, and project AWARE activity.
We have taken a break from the technical dive training to focus on divemaster skills until the 15th of July. On the 15th, we will resume our training to finish off the TDI advance nitrox and decompression procedures. Even with the busy schedule, we have managed to fun dive a couple times to take pictures and videos of the underwater world. While fun diving this week Nathan finally got his wish of taking pictures of the Harlequin Shrimp. Aside from fun diving, we even managed to challenge our dive instructor, Arnaud, to a swim race from the shore of the house reef. The goal was to swim to a buoy (50m) from shore and then return to shore by grabbing the broomstick stuck on the sand to determine the winner. The rule for the swim challenge was to swim with nothing but swim shorts. In first place was Nathan and last place was Arnaud.
