My third and final destination on my divemaster journey was the Two Fish Lembongan dive center, and although I pride myself on my ability to “rough it,” being somewhere a bit less remote was a pleasant change after Bunaken and Lombok. Lembongan was a charming little island, with lots of good food choices, and some great coffee shops to watch the breathtaking sunsets from.
On top of that the dive center was a really welcoming place. Nat and Sandra are excellent instructors, who clearly want their students and DMT’s to succeed not just in their courses, but also in their future careers. Also I had the opportunity to assist the intern, Kat, with several courses during my time in Lembongan which was a lot of fun, as well as great experience for me. My personal recipe for success also included frequent massages, as well as ice cream several times daily, both practices which I emphatically encourage any future DMT’s to continue.
The diving itself was a really great mix as well, beautiful coral gardens, a huge variety of aquatic life, wonderful drift dives, and of course, mantas.
Lembongan was a fitting end to my divemaster course, relaxing, stress-free, and fun. Unfortunately for me it’s time to get back to the real world, I wish everybody at Two Fish the best going forward.
