Time passes so fast here in Bunaken. I have been on this island for four weeks so far and I still love this place. I was quite busy with my Divemaster internship this week. I finished the DM manual and did the final exam. Theory is done 🙂 The last two weeks I practiced the 24 Dive Skills several times with Dom in the pool. I could also see how the other two instructors are conducting the skills during the Open Water courses. So this week was my turn and my Dive Skills were scored by Ina.

This week I conducted two Scuba Reviews. One was simulated where Dom played a diver who did almost everything wrong. It got so bad that he got unconscious and I had to rescue him. I can’t and won’t tell you how I managed to get him conscious again. Quite embarassing 😀 Under the supervision of Ina I conducted a real Scuba Review with a diver who had not been diving for 2 years. I was really nervous at the beginning and I hope it was not that obvious 🙂 Her boyfriend started the Open Water course the next day and I could assist Dion in the confined and also in the open water.

I started with the mapping of a divesite and with the emergency assistance plan. I did also lots of dives where I guided Dom. After each dive he gave me feedback which allows me to improve my guiding. It is quite a difference between being guided and guiding.

I went on my first Mandarin Dive and it was just amazing seeing all those mandarin-fishes and different anemone fishes.
