Another highlight of diving in Gili Air – imagine these incredible rays bypassing you in the blue – it’s a marine life sighting which will take your breath away.

Turtles – Hawksbill and Green Sea Turtles

The Gili Islands are well known for there immense turtle populations. We are extremely fortunate to have both green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles nesting on our beaches and frequenting our beaches. When you are diving Gili Air turtle sightings are almost guaranteed!

Blue Spotted Sting Rays

When you are not being occupied by the action off the reef there is plenty going on in the corals and living on the sand, blue spotted sting rays are one of our most common sightings – look out for their eyes peering out from the sand.

Bumphead Parrotfish

Halik is a favourite dive site of ours. Look out for the schooling bumphead parrotfish which we see with regularity at this site. These alien-like, awesome fish make for incredible underwater photography opportunities.

Pygmy Seahorses – Seahorse Bay

The pygmy seahorse is a very special sighting. These cute and iconic tiny creatures are definitely one of Gili Air’s most memorable species.

Frogfish

With their downturned mouths and strange head-to-body ratios, these are not one of the prettiest fish you’ll see when you are diving Gili Air but they are one of the best camouflaged. Our talented dive guides are experts at spotting them.
