IDC Bunaken
Bunaken, north Sulawesi, the Liveaboard on land, the “retreat” for divers! Sounds like a perfect place where to go for an IDC and guess what, yes it is!On the 9th of February, we started our Instructor Development Course on this little paradise.
Having one program a year here, it is always the occasion of meeting again with the “Bunaken Crew/family”.
This February 2017, Tom and Adam joined our Platinum Course Director Marie for their training.
Tom has been with Two Fish Bunaken since 9 months working on his entry level courses but has been spending most of the time training as a Dive Master.
Adam has been completing his entry level courses in Quebec, Canada and his Dive Master course recently in Koh Tao, Thailand.
But on the 9th of February they decided to take the big step up on becoming an Instructor.
There is always this moment when they get to meet with their Course Director…how is she/he gonna be?! Well I guess it went very well as straight away, connexion was made and laugh were present.
Since then, they have been going through lectures, presentations, exams, evaluation and they have been experiencing the roller coaster ride that most of people can experience on an IDC. But smiles have been on the faces, everyday, every minutes.
The beauty of the Bunaken location is that it offers the perfect environment for the candidates.
Quiet, peaceful, food, sleep, café/bar is all you have here and let’s be honest, all you need!
The location offers the candidates the perfect environment for their learning process.
Having a pool as well on the resort, they can jump in any time they want to offer them selves extra practice.
And in between all that, let’s not forget that hey, we are on Bunaken, one of the best dive location in the world. What’s better then going out on the boat, do an IDC
Open Water presentation on the first dive and on the second, go for a FUN DIVE!
Wall dive, healthy reef, macro, shark, turtles and great viz.
Sadly, we’ve been ending the program already on the 23rd of February…but happily, there is two new Instructors which are about to start their new career!
