The Manta Rays in Lembongan…. The underwater action at Manta Point has continued throughout the week, with sightings of schooling manta rays, matting trains, mantas cleaning and some feeding action. The Manta Rays presence at Manta Point over the last 3 weeks has been outstanding and we have almost had a 100% success rate in sightings. The waves have picked up a bit over the last few days, making it not possible to get back around to Manta Point. We really hope to get back around soon, to allow are divers the magical experience of dancing with these amazing creatures.
In the past, it was normal to get the bigger group of manta rays in Lembongan’s Manta Point, on the cleaning station. The cleaning station is a large rock formation under the water, that starts at 15 meters deep and comes up to around 5 meters from the surface. This rock is where the manta rays circle to be cleaned by the reef fish that also live around this rock. Divers would often hang back and just watch the cleaning station for long parts of the dive, if the manta action was good enough, some divers would spend the full dive at the cleaning station. Now things have changed a bit, manta rays are being seen all over the dive site. This adds to the excitement, as you descend close to the cleaning station, you are greeted by mantas entering and exciting the station. But even when you move away from the cleaning station and make your way a long the large plateau, often you come face to face with a manta guiding a long the bottom.

Looking forward to it! ???
