This week in Lembongan… With great excitement, we are all very happy to announce that the manta rays have returned to manta bay in Nusa Lembongan! It seem they took a month holiday to relax, before preforming back to back shows during the high season.
Even with no sightings of manta rays at Manta Bay over the last month, we have still be going there with our fingers crossed, in hopes that they would return and  that is just what we did this week. With anticipation of the mantas still being on holiday, hopes were a little low when we headed to Manta Bay for dive 1 of the day. But then, every bodies silent hopes were interrupted, when one of the manta spotters calls out from the front of the boat, as 2 black shadows glide just below the surface and right in front of the boat.
With great excitement, everyone jumped in the water to start their dive with these amazing creatures. Even though our dive guides have seen the manta rays many times, it was clear to see that they were all very happy to see these friendly giants back again.
With no mantas at Manta Bay, it has restricted our manta sightings quite a bit as the only place that we have been seeing them has been at Manta Point. Manta Point is the site that is quite far away and is very restricted by the sea conditions, meaning that, sometimes, it is just not possible to get there. Now that the manta rays are back in Manta Bay, it has given us back the extra dive site and one that is easier to get to.
So this is not just good news for us but also to all who are coming to visit us. We are now back to that nice reassuring number of about an 80% chance of seeing manta rays in the area! Just in time for the start of the high season. Now we can only hope that the molas don’t take a holiday in the middle of high season!

Wow!
