This time of the year is definitely the best moment for taking a PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Amed. Calm sea with crystal clear water, less people on the dive sites… all conditions are reunited for some awesome diving! This week Danielle decided to bring her boyfriend Matthew, both from Melbourne, to come over to Bali and introduce him to the beauties of the ocean! As none of them were certified divers, they signed up for the PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Amed on one day, followed by two extra days of diving with three dives a day. What an awesome introduction to diving!

After a quick briefing and some practice in the pool on the first morning, they were ready to go in the open water under the direct supervision of their instructor. We headed to one of our favourite dive sites, called Pyramids – it’s an awesome site for sivers who are taking the PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Amed. There is a good mix of artificial and natural reef, and plenty of life. Blue-spotted stingrays, hawksbill turtles (see image above), tonnes of butterfly and angelfish, lion and scorpionfish, snappers and so much more, The dive really made their day and it was only their first dive in the ocean. Following on from Pyramids we went to explore the famous USAT Liberty shipwreck and several coral dive sites in the Tulamben area. They really had a great introduction to diving in Bali and the amazing dive sites which Amed has to offer. Thanks to their experience with the Discover Scuba Diving in Amed program they are both hooked on diving and are already thinking of taking their PADI Open Water Course in Bali whenever possible.
