This week in Lembongan… The big waves that were predicted for the weekend didn’t affect us as much as we had thought. Of course we were not able to go visit the mantas, but we were able to do many wonderful dives on the north coast of Nusa Penida.
Many guests returned to visit us this week so we saw a lot of familiar faces. We have Marketa and Oldrich staying with us again, they were here last year and the year before they visited Bunaken. Remember Georgia? She did her PADI Divemaster course with Two Fish at the end of last year. This year, Georgia and Phil came to Lembongan for a few fun dives. Another of our former Divemaster trainees, Angela, just arrived today to spend a week with us. Sarah and Simon who work in Cambodia dived at our resort in Bunaken a few years ago and decided that they’d give Lembongan a try while completing their PADI Advanced Open Water course. And last but not least Xochi and Lila that did their PADI Junior Open Water course a few months ago came back with friends and family to do some snorkeling and diving, what a vibrant boat full with happy people. So welcome back everybody, it was really nice to see you all again.
Apart from all our guests we did see some fish in the water as well. There was a female ribbon eel chasing and playing with a small goby fish. At Toyapakeh we saw a huge moray eel, unfortunately only the head was visible, it would have been interesting to see the whole length of the animal. Nudibranchs in all forms, shapes and sizes seem to appear everywhere at the moment. A very special semicircle angelfish – also called Koran angelfish – was spotted on one of our last dives – it was in the middle of changing from its very beautiful juvenile colour pattern to the adult colouration.
