Hi, my name is Tom, welcome to my first ever Blog.
I’m 35 years old and on many days, still feel I have the wonder of a child. Diving helps maintain this wonderment..
I am a British lad, born in Belgium and now have a home in Spain surrounded by grapevines..
I have left this hot dry place to come to the hot wet place called Bunaken, to learn the ways of the diving masters.
I completed my open water course in 2001 and have done 100+ dives just on that certification, so when I arrived here two months ago, I went through advanced course and into EFR and rescue courses.. I have to say, rescue was intense! Dramatic scenarios round every corner, but what a great experience, I now feel useful and more prepared for the unexpected.
So here I am, in the first half of my Dive Master course, feeling the life of an instructor is more achievable than ever before.
I’ve assisted Open water divers on their first dives, guided dives, finding micro and macro life to behold and demonstrated skills such as mask and BCD removal, (though I still need to sharpen up my hand signals)..
Oh it’s fun, I hope I maintain this wonder and excitement and can pass it on to more divers in the future.
I think that’s all for now, I’ll b back soon with more sub-aqua stories.
Good air to you all. Tom
