This week in the north Gilis, we have had an overload of turtles!!! The north gilis being Gili Air, Gili Trawangan and Gili meno have been popular for decades now, tourists from around the world come to see the beautiful landscape, underwater paradise and either party or chill out.  We can almost guarantee 90% chance of turtles on a dive in the north Gilis. We often run into both the Hawksbill Turtles and the Green sea turtles, sometimes growing to a size of 4-5 feet in length.

Grand Lu and Lee from China who are open water divers joined us on a package around 3 of the locations we dive here in Lombok. We had a brilliant time both on land and underwater. I have been working in the dive industry for 8 years now and I can tell you I have never in this whole time seen so many turtles, not just on one dive but during the whole trip. What an amazing 3 days we had.

We have a variety of sea life, vast amounts of coral growing , some incredible walls and topography especially around Trawangan and Air.

Among the Turtles we often encounter banded sea snakes, nudiebranchs, lionfish of many variations, scorpionfish, leaf scorpionfish, white reef sharks and on the lucky days we see mantas, eagle rays and yes whale sharks!!! There is a lot to still discover around the North of Lombok, Gilis and Senggigi. I am looking forward to this season!!!!
