In the North Gili’s, Lombok this week once again we have been swarmed with Turtle’s. It is almost 99% guaranteed that you will bump into at least one on a day trip of two dives. Usually we spot from 5 mixed hawksbill and Green Turtles to what can be 20 individuals.
The North Gili’s have something for everybody, from beginners who all they want is to see their first turtle to pro’s with camera’s wanting a bit more macro or a little more challenging dives with currents.
We have around 26-30 Dive sites around Gili Air, Meno and Trawangan ranging from pinnicles to walls, to slopes and plateaus. Although the North Gilis are not famous for their colourful coral reef’s, we have many spots that are outstanding with plenty of hard corals, some massive sea fans and plenty of variety of tropical reef fish and macro.
Other common things to bump into around the Gili’s are white tip reef sharks, peacock mantis shrimps, nudibranch, flat worms, leaf scorpion fish, lionfish, squat lobsters, lobsters and shrimps. We have also been seeing a rise in the ever so cute seahorses from pygmy to common. Lovely warm clear blue water, a truly wonderful experience.
